Gossip Girl showrunners Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage have set up a first-look deal at Paramount with plans to expand to the bigscreen.

According to Variety, Paramount's Adam Goodman believes Savage and Schwartz can help ramp up youth-oriented banners MTV Films and Nickelodeon Films. Deal is effective July 1.

Savage and Schwartz said they are getting a certain amount of overhead per the terms of the two-year deal, but that they want to run a lean-and-mean operation. In return, Paramount is vesting them with more autonomy in terms of developing projects.
