Spanish filmmaker Juan Carlos Fresnadillo will direct the character-driven chase drama Wednesday for DreamWorks and producer Nina Jacobson, according to Variety.

The Massy Tadjedin script revolves around a desperate man who carjacks a young woman, setting off a high-speed car chase across Los Angeles.

Fresnadillo will begin filming early next year, marking the first project into which Jacobson will go into production since ankling as prexy of the Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group and signing an overall deal with DreamWorks.

Paramount will handle worldwide distribution on Wednesday.
