Judd Apatow and Laura Dern have teamed up to produce an Untitled Female Football Comedy from Team America: World Police co-writer Pam Brady.

Universal will release the ensemble project, which follows a group of obsessed female football fans. No cast members are in place just yet. Laura Dern came up with the idea, and took it directly to Judd Apatow. The pair then enlisted Pam Brady for screenwriting duties.

The Untitled Female Football Comedy will be produced via Apatow Productions alongside Barry Mendel. Erik Baiers will be overseeing the project for Universal.

Judd Apatow is currently in post-production on his latest directorial effort, the Amy Schumer-led Trainwreck. And he is also executive producing Girls Season 4, which will debut in January 2015.

Laura Dern most recently starred in The Fault in Our Stars, and will next be seen in the true-life drama Wild opposite Reese Witherspoon. It is not yet known if she will take a role in the Untitled Female Football Comedy.
