Production has been under way since August on Disney's The Jungle Book, although we haven't heard much about the project since director Jon Favreau sent out selfies with cast members Bill Murray, Christopher Walken and Neel Sethi, who plays young Mowgli. Today, Walt Disney Pictures updated the adaptation's official Facebook page with concept art featuring Mowgli and the panther Bagheera (voiced by Ben Kingsley), along with the official logo. It isn't known how much shooting is left on The Jungle Book, which is scheduled to hit theaters on October 9, 2015.

Based on Rudyard Kipling's clasic novel, The Jungle Book centers on Mowgli, a man-cub raised in the jungle by a family of wolves, who embarks on a captivating journey of self-discovery when he's forced to abandon the only home he's ever known. The project will be a mixture of live-action and CGI animation, with Neel Sethi's Mowgli to be the only actor shown on the screen. This should not be confused with Warner Bros.' The Jungle Book: Origins, which is being directed by Andy Serkis.

The voice cast also includes Scarlett Johansson (Kaa), Idris Elba (Shere Khan), Bill Murray (Baloo), Christopher Walken (King Louie), Lupita Nyong'o (Raksha) and Giancarlo Esposito (Akela). It remains to be seen whether or not this adaptation will include any of the musical elements from Disney's original 1967 animated classic The Jungle Book. Take a look at the concept art and logo below, and stay tuned for more images and footage as The Jungle Book continues production.
