Daniel Radcliffe is no stranger to genre movies. In fact, most of his career has revolved around the weird, supernatural and down right scary. His next movie is the thriller Jungle, based on a true story. We have a first look at the actor, alone facing god knows what as he treks into a secluded area of the Amazon.

Daniel Radcliffe won't be trudging through this dangerous Jungle by himself. Joining him are Thomas Kretschmann ( best known for Avengers: Age of Ultron) and Alex Russell (seen in such genre fare as Chronicle, The Host and Carrie). The movie is directed by Greg McLean, who has been in the news a lot lately for his James Gunn-penned thriller The Belko Experiment. Bloody Disgusting brings this debut image from Jungle, which has a disheveled Daniel Radcliffe concerned about something far off in the distance.

Jungle is based on the memoir Lost in the Jungle from Yossi Ghinsberg. The story follows three young men on a trek through the Amazonian jungle. They are joined by a mysterious guide. Joel Jackson and Yasmin Kassim round out the cast. Here is the official synopsis of the book for a better understanding of what awaits in this harrowing true story of survival.

"Four travelers meet in Bolivia and set off into the heart of the Amazon rainforest, but what begins as a dream adventure quickly deteriorates into a dangerous nightmare, and after weeks of wandering in the dense undergrowth, the four backpackers split up into two groups. But when a terrible rafting accident separates him from his partner, Yossi is forced to survive for weeks alone against one of the wildest backdrops on the planet. Stranded without a knife, map, or survival training, he must improvise shelter and forage for wild fruit to survive. As his feet begin to rot during raging storms, as he loses all sense of direction, and as he begins to lose all hope, he wonders whether he will make it out of the jungle alive. Lost in the Jungle is the story of friendship and the teachings of nature, and a terrifying true account that you won't be able to put down."

Daniel Radcliffe is best known for playing Harry Potter in Warner Bros.' fantasy franchise that has earned billions of dollars at the box office. He also headlined the Hammer horror movie The Woman in Black, the thriller Horns and was most recently seen in the island survival comedy drama Swiss Army Man. Director Greg McLean is best known for his thrillers The Darkness and the classic horror movie Wolf Creek.

Justin Monjo wrote the screenplay for Jungle. Greg McLean produced the thriller alongside Dana Lustig, Gary Hamilton, Mike Gabrawy and Todd Fellman. Here's our first look at poor Daniel Radcliffe, who's feet are probably rotting off in this photo, we just don't get a look yet. That horror show is being saved for the big screen.
