Jurassic World Dominion star Chris Pratt has teased the finality of the upcoming sequel, calling it the “end” of the Jurassic franchise. Speaking on the Today Show, Pratt discussed how Jurassic World Dominion will act as a culmination of the decade-spanning series, giving everything to bring the beloved franchise to a crowd-pleasing conclusion and ushering in the end of Jurassic World.

"You know when you go to a fireworks display like the Fourth of July or New Years, there's always the finale? You're waiting for it, and then boom! And you're like, 'Oh! This is it! This is the finale!' I feel like the whole movie is that. It's...30 years in the making, it's the sixth Jurassic film, it's the end of this franchise."

According to Pratt, Jurassic World Dominion will bring the fireworks, lighting up the screen all the way through and letting audiences know that this is the big finale. Alongside Chris Pratt’s Owen Grady, Jurassic World Dominion will also bring back the original Jurassic Park trilogy, with the actor explaining how this legacy team-up marks the end of the story.

"I really do think it's the end. You've got the legacy cast back — Sam Neil, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum plus the cast of Jurassic World all...converging in a way that is very much a finale. The first time I saw Jurassic Park, I was thirteen. I had no idea I was going to be an actor. If you would've told me that I would be doing this, there's no way I would've believed it. And these folks were cemented in my mind as icons, and so to be working with them is a dream come true."

Jurassic World Dominion picks up four years after the Lockwood estate incident at the end of the previous sequel Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Dinosaurs now live, and hunt, alongside humans all over the world. This fragile balance will reshape the future and determine once and for all whether human beings are to remain the apex predators on a planet they now share with history's most fearsome creatures.

With dinosaurs now out in the world, the Jurassic franchise needs a true action hero to bring some semblance of order to the chaos. Well, according to returning star Sam Neill, that action hero is Chris Pratt.

"Chris Pratt is a genuine action hero and that's something we've never really done,” Neill said of Pratt’s role in the sequel. “I mean, the truth is, we're kind of nerds in very unpleasant situations. Pratt is amazing. And I'd never really, properly considered, 'What do you do to be an action hero?' and it's a whole bunch of skills that I'd never really considered. I find him completely awesome."
