Universal has launched an official Jurassic World viral site, which offers up a ton of new photos featuring stars Irrfan Khan and B.D. Wong. It also contains plot details, giving a full backstory on the history of the island and the park which opened, according to the site, in 2005.
Along with news about InGen, the Masrani oil company, and upcoming technological breakthroughs, there is also a full profile of the company, a message from the CEO Simon Masrani (Irrfan Khan), his personal blog, and even a work application so you can join in on the fun.
The site explains that soon after the acquisition of InGen in 1998, Simon Masrani took control and re-invented a new theme park on Isla Nublar. His plan was to build the greatest theme park and attractions ever constructed in humankind's history. Did he succeed? We'll have to wait until next summer to find out. In the meantime check out some of the photos that have been shared on the site thus far, which includes a link to the official Jurassic World website. There isn't much on the site except a countdown calendar and a current park weather reading. The countdown is set for Thanksgiving Day, which is when the first teaser trailer will be released.
