Tired of taking a backseat to Marvel Studios, Warner Bros. and DC Comics have announced that they plan to release Justice League of America in the summer of 2015. This is the same summer that will see The Avengers 2 onto screens across America. If we make it past December 2012 as an intact human race, this could very well be the biggest summer in film history.
This announcement comes quickly on the heels of Warner Bros. recently won /warner-bros-wins-superman-court-battle/legal battle to keep using the Superman character. Production is now accelerating at an expedient rate on this epic adventure that will bring together Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Aquaman, and other iconic characters.
A script is currently in the works, with a director and actors to be announced in the very near future.
A delay on the project was always in place because of this legal battle to keep the rights to Superman. If Warner Bros. had lost the case yesterday, they wouldn't have been able to make Justice League of America, and Man of Steel's own future release would have been uncertain. Now, a Man of Steel sequel is being planned as well.
