It seems that director Will Gluck and Justin Timberlake will be adding some confusion to future film and TV slates with the third project to have the exact same title. Deadline New York is reporting that Justin Timberlake is finalizing a deal to star in Friends With Benefits, which will be the third project in recent months to bear the exact same title.

Back in February we /nbc-picks-up-friends-with-benefits/reported that NBC had picked up the rights to the orphaned ABC pilot entitled Friends With Benefits, written by (500) Days of Summer screenwriters Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, which revolves around five single friends who take up casual relations while searching for their true love. Last month, we also reported that a new Ivan Reitman comedy entitled Friends with Benefits was also moving forward at Paramount, with Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman attached to star, which revolved around similar issues, although precise plot details weren't announced.

Now this Justin Timberlake film Friends With Benefits is being set up at Screen Gems for director Will Gluck, with the script by Keith Merryman and David Newman. It was said that the Screen Gems title was registered first and the Paramount project would likely have to change its title. However, the site also reports that Screen Gems can do nothing about the NBC Friends with Benefits TV project.
