The new comedy film Champions stars Woody Harrelson and Kaitlin Olson, but the veteran actor had a tough competition for the spotlight with the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Kaitlin Olson. The actress admitted that she showcased her dominance early on. The pair sat down with Collider to discuss some behind the scenes details of the film.

Woody Harrelson and Kaitlin Olson discussed the moment they realized that they’d be great together onscreen. Olson apparently dominated Harrelson from the get go. When asked when they realized that they were going to be good together, Olson said, “I intimidated him right away, so I felt like this is gonna be a home run. And then I just kept belittling him throughout the shoot, and that made me feel better about myself. And then I feel like that came across on screen.”

The actor agreed and admitted that it was daunting. He said, “In fact, you know, the very first scene we shot together was a kind of intense emotional scene, of which there's a few in the movie or at least a couple, and she just brought her A-game. I was like, ‘Oh boy, I gotta step up here.’”

He continued, “She's such a great actress, and not just a great actress and emotionally available, but then when you're in the fun, funny scenes like this – that first scene – no one delivers better than her. I mean other than me, but I probably shouldn't have said that.”

While the actor was all praises for Olson, the actress also had a great time filming with Harrelson, and she believes that he’s the absolute partner. She said, “It was very fun making him laugh, and he's a perfect scene partner. I think we actually were having fun together, which I think is always helpful.”

For Olson, filming for Champions had a different vibe. She admitted that they were just having fun on and off-screen. The actress further revealed that the cast and crew spent some quality time together, and they bonded really well. She said, “It also really helps to be shooting a movie away from your hometown. We were in Winnipeg. I wasn't rushing home to make dinner for my kids.”

She continued, “We got to just live there and relax, and just be together and spend time together. Madison [Tevlin] who plays Cosentino had a birthday, and she had the birthday party of the century in a hotel room in Winnipeg. We had so much fun. It was a huge dance party. We just legitimately had such a fun time.”

Champions is out in movie theaters March 10.
