John O'Farrell's novel The Best a Man Can Get has been optioned for a big screen adaptation by Paramount Pictures. According to Variety, Karey Kirkpatrick has agreed to both write and direct the project.

The plot revolves around a London based musician that must contend with his commitment phobias. He begins to lead a double life, spending half his time bunked up with three pals in a bachelor pad and spending the other half with his wife and two small children.

The film does not have a set start date at this time.
