Kate Hudson has boarded Joe Lynch's Everly, a new picture from Adam Ripp and Robby Paris' Crime Scene Pictures. The film hits the market at the Berlin Film Festival next week.

The actress will play a down-on-her-luck woman, stuck in her apartment, fending off waves of assassins sent by her ex, a dangerous mob boss. The concept was created by Joe Lynch, who is also known for Knights of Badassdom. Yale Hannon will be writing the script.

This marks the second collaboration from Crime Scene Pictures with Gambit already in the works for 2012. The project stars Colin Firth and Cameron Diaz as an art curator who enlists the services of a Texas steer roper to con a wealthy collector into buying a phony Monet painting.

Both films will be completed in 2012.
