We reported last month that NBC had picked up a new comedy pilot and it seems that they have found their star. According to The Hollywood Reporter, former American Idol runner-up Katharine McPhee has been set to star in the new pilot The Pink House.

The story centers on two Midwesterners who move out to a Los Angeles beach house, determined to find the right job and make the most out of their lives. McPhee will play Emily, another Midwestern transplant that lives in an apartment complex behind their house.

It wasn't said who would play the main characters, John "Fitz" Fitzgerald and Rob "Bernie" Burnett, and a production schedule for the pilot wasn't released.
