Untitled Horror Project: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Spike Jonze and Charlie Kaufman are adapting their Adaptation talents to the horror genre for Columbia Pictures.

Deals are being worked out for the duo to collaborate on an untitled horror film for the studio that Kaufman is writing, with Jonze set to direct. Details of the project are being closely guarded. The deal is a coup for Columbia, which produced the duo's last effort, Adaptation. That film became a critical darling on the 2003 awards season circuit, nabbing four Oscar nominations and a supporting actor win for Chris Cooper. "Adaptation," which dramatized a screenwriter's struggle adapting a nonfiction book, also won a slew of other awards, including two Golden Globes and honors from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, Broadcast Film Critics, Los Angeles Film Critics, New York Film Critics and National Board of Review.
