Fortunately, these never get old, but we have yet another story to share about how wonderful Keanu Reeves is. This time, the story comes from Lance Reddick, who's been co-starring with Reeves in the popular John Wick movie series. As Reddick recently explained to Vulture, Reeves had the day off from filming John Wick: Chapter 4 on his birthday in September, and while most actors would spend that time as far away from work as possible, the only thing Reeves wanted to do was visit his friend Lance.

"Whenever I work with a big movie star for the first time, I keep my guard up to protect my work from an ego. And if there’s any big movie star who’s not that person, it’s Keanu. During John Wick: Chapter 4, my first day of filming happened to be Keanu’s birthday. But he wasn’t in the scene. He came to the set anyway at nine o’clock at night with his girlfriend who I had never met... His girlfriend is cool as f*ck. And she told me that she asked Keanu what he wanted to do for his birthday and he said, 'I want to go see Lance.' He’d never done this before but he wrote me a note thanking me for what I brought to the character in these movies. And he wanted to give the note to me. I’ll never forget it. I’m going to cry now."

This news also follows the spread of a viral video captured from the John Wick: Chapter 4 set. In the footage, Reeves can be seen helping the crew in carrying some equipment up a flight of stairs. One crew member attempts to take over, but Reeves insists on helping. As noted above, these kinds of stories are nothing new for Reeves, but they're nevertheless always fun to read about as they make us all appreciate the beloved superstar that much more.

Lance Reddick joins Keanu Reeves in John Wick: Chapter 4 with Ian McShane also returning to reprise his role as Winston and Laurence Fishburne back as the Bowery King. The sequel introduces a slew of new cast members that include Rina Sawayama, Donnie Yen, Shamier Anderson, Bill Skarsgard, Hiroyuki Sanada, Scott Adkins, and Clancy Brown. Chad Stahelski directs the feature using a screenplay by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch. John Wick: Chapter 4 is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 27, 2022.

As for Reddick, the actor will also soon be starring in his own Resident Evil live-action series. He'll be playing a new incarnation of Albert Wesker, the primary villain of the original video game, in a story unconnected to Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City. That series doesn't yet have a release date but will hit Netflix sometime in 2022. Reddick has said how his Wesker is merely based on the character from the games, where he didn't really have much of a backstory, and the actor is "excited" to get the new series out there for Resident Evil fans to enjoy.
