Keanu Reeves is one of that exclusive groups of actors who don’t seem to age in the same way as everyone else. At the SXSW John Wick 4 premiere screening, Reeves took part in a short Q&A session that saw him answering questions from the delighted audience. Along with questions about the John Wick franchise, a proposal of marriage and other queries, one person wanted to know if Reeves actually ages. Reeves replied with a smile:

“Yeah man, I age. I really — I age. It’s happening, man.”

It is not hard to understand why some people question the Canadian’s abilities to keep his aging in check, as his recent run of action roles, as well as a return to the Bill and Ted franchise, doesn’t suggest that he is really feeling age creeping in. Like Paul Rudd, his general appearance hasn’t changed all that much over the last couple of decades, leading him to continue to sit among some of the most desirable stars in Hollywood.

His new John Wick movie may not see him looking his best, as the brutal violence of the movie tends to leave the character looking a bit beaten and bruised. However, in the main, Reeves is still someone who can defy the aging process in a way that many others can only wish for.

John Wick 4 has already seen impressive early reviews and as well as being the biggest and best film of the franchise, it could also take its place as one greatest action movies of all time. Previously Keanu Reeves discussed how one big influence on the movie’s style has been from Japanese filmmaking. He said:

"Japanese anime and Japanese filmmaking have definitely been something I've loved and have been influenced by. And bushido is definitely a theme in our film – you know, the code of the samurai – so, from the outside, it feels like a great fit, the idea of honor and sacrifice. There's definitely a strong Japanese influence."

Where the John Wick franchise goes from here is still a little up in the air. Spin-off movie Ballerina and TV event series The Continental are both coming in the near future, but John Wick 5 was originally meant to be filmed back to back with John Wick 4 until those plans were changed. Reeves previously addressed how another movie really relies on how well the fourth instalment does. He said:

"You have to see how the audience responds to what we did. The only reason we've had a chance to make these movies is that people have liked what we have done. So I think we have to wait and see how the audience responds to it. Hopefully they'll like it. You might have to give me and John Wick just a little break. Ask me in a couple of months. In the next week, I'm praying to the movie gods that I finish this one."
