Frasier star Kelsey Grammer is heading to the streaming service Fox Nation. Per Variety, Grammer is set to host the multi-part docuseries Kelsey Grammer's Historic Battles for America, a series that will delve into eight key battles in American history. The actor will "examine the strategies and inner workings of such landmark skirmishes as the Battle of Bunker Hill during the American Revolution, the fight for the Alamo, and the First Battle of Bull Run during the Civil War," concluding with a spotlight on the Battle of the Little Bighorn.
“Kelsey is a legend in the entertainment industry, and we are proud to bring his talents to our platform with Kelsey Grammer’s Historic Battles for America,” Fox Nation president Jason Klarman said in a statement. “His affinity for our nation’s history and charismatic delivery will provide Fox Nation subscribers with an entertaining yet educational viewing experience they can’t get anywhere else.”
Grammer added, “I am excited this show will provide the opportunity to share a historical look into some of the most important battles fought through American history, to remember those who fought them, and how they shaped our country."
The series is produced by Warm Springs Productions, the team behind Fox Nation's four-part docuseries about Yellowstone National Park hosted by Kevin Costner, in association with Grammer's Grammnet NH Productions. Grammer, Tom Russo, and Jordan McMahon are executive producing alongside Warm Springs' Marc Pierce and Chris Richardson.
Kelsey Grammer Has Multiple Upcoming Projects
This is one of many new projects in the works from Kelsey Grammer. The actor has been consistently working on a Frasier revival that he says has been in gestation at Paramount+. While that project has yet to fully get underway, Grammer said in November that he's still working on it, and noted that he's "pretty happy" with how progress has been going.
“We are kicking it around," Grammer said, per NJ. "We have a couple of ideas and we’re pretty happy with where we are right now. We’re not so sure if everybody’s coming back, but I know there’s a third act for Frasier. Certainly he’s got a lot of things to still explore.”
In February, it was also announced that Grammer had been cast to play a 1970s preacher in the Lionsgate film Jesus Revolution. Inspired by the true story of a "national spiritual awakening in the early 1970s and its origins within a community of teenage hippies in Southern California," the film also stars Anna Grace Barlow, Jonathan Roumie, and Nicholas Cirillo. The Mighty Ducks star Shaun Weiss just recently announced his casting as well. A release date hasn't yet been set for the film.
Grammer recently appeared in films like The Space Between, The God Committee, Charming the Hearts of Men, and Father Christmas Is Back. The actor also appeared in the Peacock series Dr. Death with Joshua Jackson and did voiceover work for Netflix's Green Eggs and Ham series as well as Disney Channel's The Ghost and Molly McGee.
