Ken Takakura is making his first movie in over six years, starring in Anata E (To You). With a legacy spanning over 60 years, the 80-year old actor has been choosy about the roles he takes on, saying he was moved by this story.

The story follows a Japanese prison counselor who journeys to Kyushu Island to scatter his dead wife's ashes. Yasuo Furuhata, who has made numerous films with the actor is directing, while Takashi Aoshima is writing the script based on a story by Seichi Ichiko.

Ken Takakura has starred in several foreign films, including a more recent Riding Along for Thousands of Miles and Mr. Baseball.

Filming starts Sept. 7 and is expected to be released by fall 2012.
