Kevin Bacon has signed on to star in the upcoming Lionsgate thriller 6 Miranda Drive, with Radha Mitchell in negotiations to co-star.

We first reported on this project back in March 2011, when it was listed as a part of the studio's micro-budget slate. The plot centers on a family who unwittingly bring back a supernatural entity that feeds on fear from their vacation at the Grand Canyon.

Greg Mclean (Wolf Creek, Rogue) is directing from his own script, with Jason Blum producing through his Blumhouse Productions company, along with Chapter One Films' Matthew Kaplan and Robyn Marshall. Production is scheduled to begin next month in Los Angeles.

Kevin Bacon can currently be seen on the Fox drama series The Following. Radha Mitchell, who will reunite with her Greg Mclean director Greg Mclean on this project, most recently starred in Olympus Has Fallen and The Frozen Ground.
