Charlie Cox is going to remain Marvel's one and only Daredevil, as Kevin Feige recently said that this role won't be recast for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Feige was careful not to officially confirm that Cox's arrival is imminent, as he refused to say for sure it was happening, only noting that if Matt Murdock were to appear in the MCU, it would be with Cox in the role. It was enough to get many fans excited as it hints at Cox popping up in that role, and likely very soon.

Marvel fans will be happy to see Cox's Matt Murdock again, and the same can be said for Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin, who's rumored to show up in Hawkeye. These discussions also have fans wondering about the status of other characters from Netflix's Defenders-Verse: Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Punisher. Kevin Feige was directly asked by Screen Rant after the Cox news broke if audiences could see those other heroes on the screen again in the near future, and here's what he had to say.

"I always say that whenever a character comes back into the Marvel sandbox, it becomes another tool in the storytelling ability of the MCU. As I said before, the good news is, all will be revealed when people actually finally watch."

Kevin Feige is obviously trying to avoid giving any spoilers here, but this seems to be good news when reading between the lines. He may be insinuating that the arrival of one major character from the Netflix shows opens the door for others to follow in the MCU, as might be the case with Kingpin in Hawkeye. His additional comments about encouraging fans to wait to watch and see what happens would suggest that Marvel has a big surprise up its sleeve that will be revealed in the near future. As Feige already teased with Charlie Cox's arrival, it remains to be seen exactly when, where, or how the character will enter the fray.

One of the most popular rumors is that Charlie Cox will return as Daredevil in Spider-Man: No Way Home this month. Some fans even though they saw a part of his body in one of the trailers, a claim Cox would deny soon after. The actor has said he appreciates the fans standing by his return as the years have gone by. However, because so much time has passed since the Netflix show ended, Cox has also suggested that his potential return would be as a Daredevil variant, and not necessarily the exact same Matt Murdock fans had gotten to know over three seasons at Netflix.

"Look, a lot of time's passed, so God knows if anything can for us in the future. I really don't know," Cox recently explained, per DriiftyFilm on YouTube. "Obviously, if something were to happen, that would be thrilling. But because enough time has passed, I would imagine it would have to be a kind of reimagining. Assuming that they choose to use us, it would be an interesting scenario, because it would be a reimagining but with the same foundation. So, I don't know what it would look like."

Spider-Man: No Way Home will be released on Dec. 17, 2021, which may or may not include the return of Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock. This news comes to us from Screen Rant.
