For the last few weeks we have been told that the MCU’s Spider-Man 4, 5, and 6 are in development, but not officially, or maybe officially, but then again maybe now. Finally, the man in the know, Kevin Feige, has confirmed that talks are in progress for the fourth solo movie of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man within the MCU, but they are only in the very early stages. While it seemed that this was a likely outcome, having word from the Marvel Studios boss is probably the one thing that stops the rumors and questions.

Was Spider-Man: No Way Home Peter Parker's Endgame?
For some time now, it has been said that Spider-Man: No Way Home is Peter Parker’s Endgame, and after seeing the movie it very quickly becomes apparent why those comparisons have been made; the film is epic, there is an emotional death of a longstanding character, and it comes with a kind of closure that means the next time Spider-Man is seen it will almost be like starting over again. For this reason, it is easy to see how some people were quick to believe that this could be the end of Tom Holland’s time as Peter Parker. Thankfully for everyone, it seems that there is still a bit left in the tank and Feige was happy to confirm it to save fans any worry on the future of their favorite friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
“Amy and I and Disney and Sony are talking about — yes, we’re actively beginning to develop where the story heads next, which I only say outright because I don’t want fans to go through any separation trauma like what happened after Far From Home. That will not be occurring this time,” Feige said as part of a discussion with the New York Times.
Reports about a new Spider-Man trilogy coming from the joint venture between Sony and Marvel Studios surfaced on the back of an interview with Spider-Man: No Way Home producer Amy Pascal, who back in November commented that there were plans being made for a new series of films within the MCU featuring Tom Holland’s web-slinger. Very quickly, Sony sources claimed that there were no active plans or discussions currently underway and that seemed to contradict everything that Pascal had said. However, as Feige pointed out, Marvel fans take a very serious line when it comes to the possibility of losing one of their favorite characters, as was seen after the release of Spider-Man: Far From Home in 2019 when for a short painful time a split in the Sony/Disney dream machine threatened to shut down Spider-Man entirely.
What Does The Future Hold For Spider-Man?
For those who had seen the movie, the ending means that the slate has been pretty much wiped clear for Peter Parker, with him making a huge sacrifice and allowing Doctor Strange to cast his spell and wipe Peter Parker from everyone’s memories.
Additionally, the mid-credit scenes see Tom Hardy’s Venom being returned to his own reality, after being sucked into the MCU in the post-credit scene of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, but not before leaving behind a small black blob of the symbiote behind, which means that there can now be another version of Venom in the MCU and that character will be the version that at some point meets up with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.
It is clear to see that there is definitely more to come from Spider-Man, but based on the current Marvel schedule it will likely not be for a few years yet.
