Good news for Kevin Smith and his fans worldwide (because they are mostly teenage boys), Zack and Miri Make a Porno has been awarded an R rating. According to AP Wire, the film was original given the dreaded NC-17 rating. But Smith has won his appeal to keep the film from getting tagged with that notorious box office killer.

MPAA spokeswoman Elizabeth Kaltman said that the decision was reversed after the appeals board sat down to watch the film. And it seems that they were okay with the questionable material at hand. Word from star Elizabeth Banks was that the scene causing the most problems has absolutely nothing to do with on-screen sex or dialogue. Though, she wouldn't reveal the true nature of the scene as it is being kept secret.

Zack and Miri Make a Porno is set to open October 31st, 2008. Which means Seth Rogen will be going toe-to-toe with Saw V's villainous Jigsaw.
