Ever since Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Kill Bill Vol. 2 were released over ten years ago, fans have been wondering when director Quentin Tarantino will return to finish the story with Kill Bill: Vol. 3. He's always teased that Beatrix Kiddo will return in some capacity. So where is this sequel? According to the man behind this Christmas' The Hateful Eight, it could could very well happen in the far off future. But there's a perfectly good reason why we haven't seen it yet.

Where has The Bride been this past decade? Taking a rest, of course. She certainly deserved a long one after everything that happened to her in the first two movies. Tarantino explains that the idea is to pick back up with the story in real time. However many years has passed on our plain of existence will be the same for Kiddo. And because of that, it's taken a lot longer to get this sequel off the ground than some other projects. He explains.

"There definitely is a possibility...Stop short of saying a probability. But there could be. For one reason in particular... Uma and me would have a really good time working together again. I put the character of Beatrix Kiddo through a lot and I wanted [Kiddo] to have this much time for peace. I wanted her to have some time with her daughter and not have to be in the genre machine."

The notion here is that Quentin Tarantino's characters live a life of their own outside of his writing. And what Beatrix has been doing these past couple years may not be any of our business. There is no indication that we'll get a backstory as to where she's been and what she's been up to.

Quentin Tarantino seemed pretty upbeat and positive while discussing the idea of Kill Bill: Vol. 3. Just a few years ago, he declared it would 'probably never happen'. But you never know when it comes to the world of this particular filmmaker. He likes to keep fans guessing as to what comes next. You can check out the full interview here.
