26 years after Arnold Schwarzenegger starred in the original 1990 comedy Kindergarten Cop, the franchise is coming back to life next week with the release of Kindergarten Cop 2. While Arnold is not returning as Detective John Kimble, another action icon, Dolph Lundgren is stepping up to take this series to a new level. While we wait for this movie to debut, we have an exclusive preview that takes us behind-the-scenes with the star and director Don Michael Paul (Tremors 5: Bloodlines).

In this exclusive sneak peek, Dolph Lundgren reveals that his young cast mates are really the stars of this sequel, and that his character, Agent Reed, becomes the butt of a lot of jokes. The actor also claims there are nothing but funny moments in this movie, including scenes with therapy pigs and hamsters. We also hear from director Don Michael Paul, who states that this movie is perfect for the entire family to enjoy together, while co-star Donna Taylor believes that fans will be connected to the journey these characters take. Bill Bellamy also adds that he can't wait to watch this movie from Universal 1440 Entertainment with his own kids.

A family favorite gets reimagined in Kindergarten Cop 2, a fish-out-of water comedy available on DVD and Digital HD as well as On Demand on May 17, 2016, from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. Directed by Don Michael Paul (Jarhead 2: Field of Fire, Tremors 5: Bloodlines), Kindergarten Cop 2 stars action superstar Dolph Lundgren (The Expendables 3, Workaholics) and Bill Bellamy(White Collar, Royal Pains) along with an adorable ensemble of young actors and is bursting with laughs for the entire family. The supporting cast includes Fiona Vroom, Aleks Paunovic, Darla Taylor, Andre Tricoteux, Jody Thompson and Rebecca Olson.

Assigned to recover sensitive stolen data, a gruff FBI agent (Dolph Lundgren) goes undercover as a kindergarten teacher, but the school's liberal, politically correct environment is more than he bargained for. The Kindergarten Cop 2 DVD and Digital HD will delight longtime fans and new viewers alike with hilarious bonus features including deleted scenes, a gag reel and a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film with the featurette Kindergarten Cop 2: Undercover. Don Michael Paul directs from a script by David H. Steinberg (American Pie 2).

It's possible that Kindergarten Cop 2 could start a new straight-to-video franchise through Universal 1440 Entertainment, which has recently released movies such as Tremors 5: Bloodlines and Honey 3. The studio is also in production on Death Race 5050, which has original Death Race director Roger Corman serving as producer. In case you missed it back in February, we also have the full trailer for this sequel below. Take a look at our exclusive preview from Kindergarten Cop 2 before picking up this sequel on DVD and Digital HD on May 17.
