The Kingpin is back, and this time, he’s looking more comic-accurate than ever before. Daredevil star Vincent D'Onofrio will reprise the role of Wilson Fisk AKA The Kingpin following his appearance in Hawkeye, with these images taken from the set of the upcoming Disney+ series, Echo. Sporting a white jacket and waistcoat and black shirt, and looking even bulkier than he has been in the past, D'Onofrio truly looks like The Kingpin leapt off the pages of Marvel Comics and into live action. You can check out the latest look at Kingpin below.

Shared to Instagram by Atlanta Filming, the images are sure to have Marvel fans hugely excited to see Vincent D'Onofrio back as the villainous mob boss in Echo. While his final moments in Hawkeye did suggest that the character may have been killed, that is highly unlikely to be the case. Unless these images come from a flashback sequence, of course. No doubt there would be riots.

For now, we can assume that Kingpin is alive and well, with Echo due to pick up following the events of Hawkeye. In New York City, Maya Lopez returns to her hometown, where she must come to terms with her past, reconnect with her Native American roots, and embrace her family and community. The title role will once again be played by Hawkeye star Alaqua Cox, who returns as Maya Lopez AKA Echo, a deaf vigilante who possesses the ability to perfectly copy another person's movements.

Marion Dayre will serve as head writer on Echo, with the series set to star the likes of Zahn McClarnon as Maya's father with Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Cody Lightning, and Graham Greene cast in undisclosed starring roles. As well as Vincent D'Onofrio, Echo will also see the return of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock AKA Daredevil, with the vigilante expected to join forces with Maya Lopez.

Rumors of both Vincent D'Onofrio and Charlie Cox reprising their respective Daredevil roles had been circulating for some time, with both now confirmed following their appearances in Hawkeye and Spider-Man: No Way Home respectively. Cox’s Matt Murdock is expected to play a major part in the MCU going forward, with the character already revealed to be featuring in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law alongside Echo, before leading his own series titled Daredevil: Born Again.

Vincent D'Onofrio has since addressed his return in Hawkeye saying, "[I was approached] earlier this year. Kevin called me and of course I said, 'Hell yeah.' I was told from my representatives that he [Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige] wanted my phone number and he called me directly."My first thought was 'Wow, maybe he's gonna invite me to the MCU,' and that's what he did immediately. He started talking about Hawkeye."

Echo is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in mid-2023, and will be part of Phase Five of the MCU. She-Hulk: Attorney at Law meanwhile is scheduled to premiere on August 18, 2022, with Daredevil: Born Again expected to land on Disney+ in Spring 2024.
