In the past few weeks, it has been noted in the trades that Kingsman: The Secret Service star Colin Firth would not be returning to reprise his role as Harry Hart in the recently announced Kingsman: The Golden Circle. That news may have been a bit premature, though. Today, franchise star Taron Egerton, who plays Eggsy, shared the first sequel poster on his personal Twitter page, and it offers a special message from an old friend.

Showing a pair of Harry Hart's glasses with one of the lens knocked out, this teaser definitely indicates that Harry may return in the sequel. While we don't get a tagline, title or look at any of the returning characters, we do get this ominous tease.

"Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated."

Matthew Vaughn, who directed last year's unexpected surprise hit Kingsman: The Secret Service, will be back to helm this new adventure for Eggsy. Back in September of last year, Mark Millar, who created the comic book upon which this franchise is based, said that Harry Hart would return if it made sense. He offered this.

"That's the conversation everyone's having right now, because part of what made that movie work is Colin. Colin's fantastic, it was a two-hander, that film. You also want to have the integrity of the story, so if you are bringing him back, it has to make sense. That's where it is at at the moment. Beats of the story have been done. [Screenplay co-writers] Matthew [Vaughn] and Jane [Goldman] are working on it at the moment. Some things have to be worked out, some decisions have still to be made and everything, so it's all fairly amorphous, but all going well. It's funny because there's a lot of conversations like that, like should he have an evil brother, Colin with a mustache? Or is he a ghost or whatever? The guys have a plan. I can't spoil it just now because the final decision is still to be made. It'll be good."

Matthew Vaughn later teased that Harry Hart would be returning. Galahad is definitely a fan favorite. He said this last year about bringing the character back.

"A lot of people are very upset that Colin might not be in the sequel but I'm coming up with ideas at the moment. If people buy tickets in America, I've got a feeling we'll figure out a way for having Colin back."

Earlier this year, Julianne Moore was announced as the main villain in Kingsman: The Golden Circle. At the time, it sounded like Matthew Vaughn had dropped his plans for Harry Hart to return. That was reiterated once again when Halle Berry was announced as the head of the CIA. This latest poster turns all of that on its head. As it certainly looks like Galahad will be back in some form or another.

The story will continue to follow wayward tough Eggsy as he moves from the wrong side of the tracks of London to become a suave and sophisticated special agent. The original story took place in the U.K., but the action is moving to the United States this time around. While Matthew Vaughn won't divulge any intimate detailes, he has teased that the sequel will involve a skiing sequence, a barroom brawl, robot dogs, one-armed henchmen and a sequence where the protagonists have to fend off "a massive f***ing frankfurter." That all sounds lovely. And this poster just pushes the point home. Take a look!
