Klown is going to be remembered in December as the funniest film of the year, beating anything the U.S. has to offer in the way of comedy. It's a benchmark in joke-telling that goes above and beyond the genre of so-called "gross-out" humor. Its biggest jokes don't easily die after the laughs have quieted. Instead, they slowly roll and build into the next disaster awaiting Frank Hvam and Casper Christensen as they set out on a sex-fueled canoe trip that is sidelined by the sudden inclusion of a young boy. Sure, Todd Phillips is planning to remake it with Danny McBride, but it will be impossible for them to recapture the kind of off magic put on display here. Only the Danish could ever be so bold. Some of the sites seen here won't soon be unseen any time in the near future. Drafthouse Films, who are distributing the movie in the states this July, have released a new hi-res photo gallery that only hints at the dark, sweet inappropriateness yet to come.
