Mixed martial arts fighter Gina Carano will have some acting heavyweights at her side for her feature film debut. The Playlist is reporting that Michael Fassbender (Inglourious Basterds), Michael Douglas, Dennis Quaid and Ewan McGregor have joined the cast of Knockout.

The site also revealed some new details on the plot of Steven Soderbergh's film as well. It was originally conceived as a film about a girl (Carano) from the bad side of town that gets a shot to use her fighting skills for good purposes. Now the story has changed quite a bit and it was reported that the film will now be more of a thriller. Here's an excerpt from the article.

Ultimately, Knockout is now more of a revenge action-spy thriller. Essentially it's hell hath no fury like a woman scorned and especially one who kicks serious ass. Double crossed by someone on her own team, Mallory Kane (Carano)- a black ops super soldier - seeks to uncover who has set her up to take the fall for a job that goes bad and involves a murder.

Douglas will play a government official, Fassbender will portray a member of Carano's special forces team and McGregor will play the owner of a training facility that Carano's character belongs to.
