Following Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio’s inclusion in the MCU, and the Netflix Marvel Universe now heading to Disney+ with all of Disney’s other Marvel content, there is now a lot of speculation about who else from those series could be soon dropping in on the MCU. One such star is Krysten Ritter, who played Jessica Jones on screen from 2015 through to 2019, is already the subject of a lot of rumors. Her recent appearance in an Instagram post sharing an image of her new, very Jessica hair, has not done anything to pull back those suggestions that the actress could be the next of The Defenders to continue her Marvel journey.

When the plug was pulled on Netflix’s Marvel Television Universe it seemed that there were a lot of characters suddenly cut off in their prime. While some series had faired better than others, Disney’s continued reclamation of Marvel characters has included a wave of Fox-owed properties such as X-Men and allegedly The Incredible Hulk is also returning to the Marvel Studios fold soon. The real question at the time was what would be happening to those characters once Disney had them under their control. As it was, fans didn’t need to wait too long in the grand scheme of things, with Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock turning up in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin becoming the villain of Hawkeye’s series.

Now the post by hair stylist Melanie Jacobs has stirred up a belief that the actress is gearing up for her Jessica Jones return, with the actress showing off her dyed hair which seems to have a purple tint, just like her comic book counterpart. While the Netflix series saw Ritter sporting her natural black hair to play the role, if she is joining the MCU it would make sense that Marvel Studios would want to make their Jessica Jones the same as her comic appearance. The caption on the post of “We’re gonna RODEO” has also been hinted at suggesting this isn’t the actress’ first time out.

Jessica Jones MCU Debut Seems to be More a Case of Where and When Rather Than If

Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage Return to Netflix in 2018

In recent weeks, it has been suggested that Jessica Jones could be making her first MCU appearance in the upcoming She-Hulk series. While it would seem a little late for Ritter to be shooting anything for that series now, there is no question that Jones’ investigative skills could certainly lead her to cross paths with lawyer Jennifer Walters at some point, but there are many other opportunities for the actress to find her place in the larger Marvel narrative.

Of course we are very close to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which is said to feature a number of cameo appearances, although with some of the more prominent characters already being touted for that movie, Jones’ appearance could be lost in the wave. With Jessica Jones having already crossed over with Daredevil, it could be a case that Charlie Cox’s future as Matt Murdock could be tied to Ritter’s possible MCU appearance. However we see Jessica Jones make her MCU debut, it will be a happy day for her fans when it comes.
