Fanboys director Kyle Newman is planning to develop Chewie, a movie based on the life of Peter Mayhew, the actor who played the iconic Wookie sidekick in the original Star Wars films.

The story focuses on the actor's struggle with juggling his career as a hospital worker and chasing his dream to become a Hollywood star. Kyle Newman acquired the actor's life rights, to further develop the spec screenplay

The script was written by Evan Susser and Van Robichaux, which made the 2011 Black List. Jess Rosenthal and D.J. Gugenheim are producing.
