The rights to Alan Snow's novel Here Be Monsters has been purchased by Laika Entertainment for an undisclosed six figure price.
The Portland, Oregon based company will turn the best-selling British children's book into an animated feature film. The Hollywood Reporter says the project will be overseen by Henry Selick, who is also working on another film of his own with Laika, Moongirl.
Here Be Monsters follows a young boy who tries to save his town from a dastardly takeover plot. Concept drawing for the film is already in the works; look for Here Be Monsters in theaters in the next few years.
