It seems that a project starring Patrick Dempsey has found a director to take the helm. Variety is reporting that Lasse Hallström has com aboard to direct the film Tom's Dad.

Dempsey will star in the film which is set in 1962 Las Vegas and centers on a film actor and a Vegas vaudevillian comedian who is reaching a crossroads in his life and career because his style of comedy is becoming extinct. Matters get worse when the character's long lost son comes back into his life.

Point Black Productions' Joni Levin and Keith Clarke are producing alongside Johnny Depp and his Infinitum Nihil Productions banner.
