It seems Rouge Pictures might put an international spin on one of its forthcoming sequels. Bloody-Disgusting has received word that French filmmaker Laurent Briet is in final negotiations to direct The Strangers 2.

The film is being written by The Strangers screenwriter Bryan Bertino. This film would mark Briet's feature directorial debut, although he did work on the visual effects for The Ring and directed the horror short Little Minx Exquisite Corpse: Rope a Dope.

Briet's deal has not been sealed as of yet, but we'll be sure to update you on any developments surrounding this film as soon as we have more information.
