Lee Daniels is in talks to direct upcoming Janis Joplin biopic Get It While You Can.

Amy Adams will star as the iconic 1960's singer-songwriter, who tragically died of a herion overdose in the late 1960s. The artist is best known for her hits "Piece of My Heart" and "Me and Bobby McGee". She also appeared at the original Woodstock in 1969.

Lee Daniels is currently helming The Butler, which stars Forest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey. Amy Adams will be seen next in On the Road and is portraying Lois Lane in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel.

Ron Terry and Theresa Kounin-Terry are writing the screenplay with Robert Katz and Andrew Sugerman producing.
