Last week, we reported that actors such as Joel Edgerton, Jim Sturgess, Jack Huston, Lee Pace, and Eddie Redmayne will soon be testing for the role of Peter Quill in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. Today, actor Lee Pace confirmed he is auditioning for the role in front of Marvel Studios executives this Monday.

"I go in on Monday to meet them all and audition for it, so wish me luck...I'm very excited about it. The script is great...I have been [reading up on Star-Lord]. You want to know what you're doing. The character is a lot of fun. I hope it works out. We'll see. We'll see. I've got to audition. I've got to go get it. I actually love auditioning, so I'm happy to go meet them all and do it."

Others such as James Marsden, Garrett Hedlund, and Sullivan Stapleton have shown interest in the Peter Quill, a.k.a. Star-Lord role, although it isn't known if they have signed testing deals like the aforementioned actors have.

James Gunn is directing from his own script. It isn't known when production will begin on this Marvel Phase II ensemble. Lee Pace will next be seen in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey as Thandruil.
