Legendary Pictures has handed out a December 18, 2015 release date for Warcraft, the studio's highly-anticipated adaptation of the World of Warcraft video game. As of now, the only other movie slated for release on that date is Universal's Dan Brown adaptation Inferno, which has Tom Hanks returning as Robert Langdon and Ron Howard attached to direct.

Ever since our report from August that Warcraft begins production in early 2014, the casting process is in full swing. We reported /world-of-warcraft-eyes-paul-dano-and-anton-yelchin/last month that actors such as Colin Farrell, Paula Patton, Anton Yelchin and Paul Dano were circling roles in this video game adaptation, although no cast members have been confirmed yet.

Duncan Jones is directing from a screenplay by Charles Leavitt, based on the hit video game series where players take part in an epic war between the Horde and the Alliance.
