Obi-Wan Kenobi even sneaks his way into the shenanigans as a Force ghost.

There’s lots to look forward to with the crew’s adventure. There’s even one surprise star that will feature his music and get you laughing with jokes. Everyone’s got a story about a crazy vacation. Now, see vacation go crazy in the Star Wars universe! Here’s everything we know about LEGO Star Wars: Summer Vacation.

Summer Vacation: The Plot

This summer vacation is bound to be more than just a day at the beach. David Shayne, writer and producer of many LEGO Star Wars films, gave everyone just a little taste of what might happen, “I don’t know how all your vacations went, but my family vacations have often gone a little awry. That’s going to happen to them, maybe.” It sounds like someone’s vacation might be in danger of going off the rails a little bit. This movie might be one where we get a bit of a surprise.

In the recently released trailer, Finn plans to take everyone on one last big hurrah for the end of summer. So, he gathers up all his friends, including Rey, Poe, Rose, Chewie, BB-8, R2-D2, and C-3PO, and heads out for good times and relaxing vibes. But that’s not everyone who will be joining the party. They all board the extremely fancy star cruiser, the Halcyon, built for awesome parties, but plans quickly fall apart when Finn gets separated from the rest of the group.

It seems that Finn might have a few lessons to learn about what it really means to go on an adventure. Three force ghosts, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Leia Organa, all appear to Finn, each telling him a story of how one of their trips has gone wrong but still turned out great in the end anyway. It looks like Finn may need to find out that vacations are about more than just having fun.

Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine are also on board to cause some trouble. In the trailer, Palpatine is instantly obsessed when someone announces a party contest to see who will become “rulers” of the beach. Palpatine’s megalomaniac side kicks in, and he commands everyone to start a limbo contest. Darth Vader raises the stakes when he replaces the limbo bar with his fully ignited lightsaber. The whole movie is filled with good spirits. Even though Palpatine may have been defeated, his grumpy face and sheer denial of the fact he is not the greatest being in the universe make for a hilarious parody of the real Star Wars movies.

Summer Vacation: The Cast

If this movie didn’t sound weird enough already, it’s about to get a little weirder because it features music and parody star Weird Al Yankovic! That’s right, Weird Al will be joining the cast to voice Vic Vankoh, the human musician who once performed on the planet Scarif for an audience of Sith Lords. LEGO Star Wars: Summer Vacation will also feature some of Weird Al’s music, making it sure to tickle your funny bone.

Thompkins from BoJack Horseman as Rad; Dee Bradley Baker, who voiced the famous Captain Rex in The Clone Wars, will play Boba Fett; Matt Lanter, who voiced Anakin Skywalker in the same series, will reprise his role here. James Arnold Taylor, who was also in The Clone Wars, will join them to play Obi-Wan Kenobi. Helen Sadler, who has voiced Rey in LEGO Star Wars movies before this, will be doing so again.

Summer Vacation will also include some stars from the feature films, including Kelly Marie Tran reprising her role as Rose Tico; Billy Dee Williams showing up to voice Lando Calrissian; and the eternal voice of C-3P0 all the way from A New Hope, Anthony Williams will be here as well. It is an excellently assembled cast to create a wonderful new family adventure for the LEGO Star Wars series.
