Production Weekly recently tweeted that high-profile actors Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, and Amanda Seyfried are rumored to be a part of The Great Gatsby movie.

The tweet indicated that Leonardo DiCaprio would play Jay Gatsby, Tobey Maguire would portray Nick Carraway and Amanda Seyfried would take on the role of Daisy Buchanan. We reported way back in December of 2008 that Baz Luhrmann would direct the movie, although it seems that he's torn between this and another mystery project.

MTV Movies Blog caught up with Baz Luhrmann, and while he wouldn't comment on the casting rumors, he did say that he would have to choose between The Great Gatsby and another movie as his next project. Here's what he told the site:

"The rumors are out! I've got two going. One is a musical and one is a period work, both based in New York City, and I'm about to make that decision. I've got the script for both of them and I'm making that decision in four to six weeks, no longer than six weeks," he teased, adding that Gatsby had no plans to add some singing. "Singing 'Gatsby'? No! 'Gatsby,' it is the Fitzgerald book and I've been working on that quite a lot. The other one is also New York based and music-driven and it's just a question of ... what is the next right step for me."

The site couldn't get any additional information about the musical project from Baz Luhrmann, but it seems we can expect his decision in the near future.
