Warner Bros. has acquired the rights to Don Winslow's novel Satori, with Leonardo DiCaprio attached to star in the adaptation.

The novel centers on Nicholas Hei (Leonardo DiCaprio), a Western man who is raised in Japan and trained as an assassin in the aftermath of World War II. Hei is sprung from a Japanese prison by the CIA and, in return, Hei must assassinate the Russian commissioner in China. Nicholas Hei is also an expert at the Japanese strategy game Go, skills which come in handy when he is betrayed by the CIA.

Shane Salerno is writing the screenplay adaptation along with author Don Winslow. John Lesher and Jennifer Davisson Killoran are producing Sartori, with Shane Salerno serving as executive producer.

Don Winslow and Shane Salerno recently teamed up on Savages, an adaptation of Don Winslow's novel which Oliver Stone is directing.

No production schedule was released for Satori.
