A scheduling snafu between talent and writers has been worked through so that Liam Neeson can now team up with writer Luc Besson for a sequel to 2009's surprise global hit Taken, which sees the actor reprise his role as Bryan Mills, the retired government operative who decimated the Paris underworld to free his kidnapped daughter, portrayed by Maggie Grace.

Luc Besson has teamed up with Robert Mark Kamen on the script, while he is in talks with Olivier Megaton to direct the sequel.

Production on Taken 2 is being eyed for the end of the year, or early 2012.
