Lifetime Television has picked up two dramas, The Madness of Ava from Fox 21 and The Virgin of Akron, Ohio from Fox TV Studios.

Ever Carradine has been cast as the lead in Ava in the show based on a true story of a doctor at Massachusetts General Hospital. The Hollywood Reporter describes The Madness of Ava as a female-lead House that centers on a brilliant neurologist (Carradine) who is diagnosed with bi-polar disorder and how that impacts her life and her family.

Production in Vancouver early next year.

The Virgin of Akron, Ohio centers on a young woman in Manhattan who, after a stint in rehab, is sent back to her Ohio town to do community service and live with her dysfunctional family. The woman becomes a local celebrity after published reports say that a vision of Virgin Mary came down to bless her after she had a car accident on her way home.

No production details have been set for The Virgin of Akron, Ohio.
