Lifetime will premiere movies on its Lifetime Movie Network that also will include mini-versions of the movies available via broadband. The five-minute serialized episodes, six episodes per movie, will premiere in August, the same time the franchise Soccer Mom Mysteries will begin on the network, says The Hollywood Reporter.
It's the first time Lifetime Movie Network has offered original movies, and the channel hopes to have a new movie premiering every month. Lifetime on Tuesday announced a large amount of new programming, including reality and scripted series and a number of new movies starring Mercedes Ruehl and Kelly Rowan as well as a biopic based on the life of American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino.
