In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount pictures has bought the rights to the life story of Linda Trest. Trest was a reporter who made known the identity of a con artist who was also busting people for drugs.

The story begins when Trest was 51and writing for the Gasconade County Republican in Gerald, Montana. She started hearing about an agent called "Sergeant Bill." He apparently "was rousting people from their homes" looking for illegal drugs. It turns out that the man behind this, Bill A. Jakob, was a former police officer had no authority to be doing what he was doing.

Writing the screenplay will be Anthony Walton and Andrew Dresher.
