Lionsgate is planning on bringing Nicolas Cage's Superman comic book heist story, Action No. 1 to the big screen.

The story focuses on around a group of nerds who attempt to steal Cage's copy of Action Comics No. 1, the landmark 1938 comic that introduced the world to Superman. The studio bought the story from Reno 911! writers Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon, who are also producing with Peter Principato and Paul Young.

The theft of the comic made headlines in 2000 and was discovered among the contents of an abandoned storage locker in 2011. The project is was written with the actor in mind, but it is uncertain if the actor will play himself in the film.

This project is in early development.
