It isn't a video game movie per se but Lionsgate is going after that audience to promote it's new Jackie Chan film.

In a story from Home Media Retailing, the company feels the audience for Chan's New Police Story "is male action fans ages 18-34, anime fans and younger video game players."

Jackie Chan did four Police Story movies from 1985 to 1996. Chan plays an inspector in the films but New Police Story only relates to the other movies in a cursory sense.

In the new film, it centers on "a gang that engages in extreme sports and makes video games of their exploits."

The company is "placing the movie's trailer at strategic points in a number of role-playing games, such as Anarchy Online, Planetside, Tony Hawk and Matrix Online" among others.
