A new poster has arrived for the new short film from The Simpsons, dubbed The Simpsons: Welcome to the Club. In the short, Lisa Simpson's mission to become a princess changes dramatically when she realizes that it may be much more fun to be the villain. We can see a sneak peek at Lisa enjoying the dark side by taking a ride with Ursula the Sea Witch, the baddie from The Little Mermaid. It's just a sneak peek at what's to come when the short releases on Disney+ Day, which would be Sept. 8, 2022.
This is just the latest short from The Simpsons to debut on Disney+. Previous releases have included the Star Wars crossover The Force Awakens from Its Nap; the Marvel Cinematic Universe parody special The Good, the Bart, and the Loki; the Disney characters crossover short Plusaversary, made for the two-year anniversary of Disney+; and When Billie Met Lisa, a short featuring Lisa Simpson meeting real-life music sensation Billie Eilish.
"This has been one of the most exciting years to be on The Simpsons, the show's been great," exec producer Al Jean told CBR when the Billie Elish short was released. "We got to do a Star Wars short [and] the Loki short. We did this thing with Balenciaga -- it's the world of high fashion. Apparently there was a real fit in the Paris Fashion Week. You know, that's a bucket list thing I never thought I'd have, so it's been really, really fun, just this really interesting new stuff."
Teasing a feature film that could be made under the Disney umbrella, Jean added, "Well, the thing we arranged with Disney+ was to do up to five shorts a year, at five minutes max. The Balenciaga was 10, so those wouldn't be... We definitely have talked about doing a full feature. The thing with animated features now is I'm not sure where they go and what world they're in. You see these great movies, like Encanto and Soul, I think they were both Disney+ exclusives. I don't know what theatrical is going to hold for animation."

The Simpsons: Welcome to the Club is One of Many Titles Coming on Disney+ Day
This short will be one of many additions to be added to the streaming platform on Disney+ Day. Some of the other new titles include the streaming premiere of Thor: Love and Thunder, the making-of special Assembled: The Making of Thor: Love and Thunder, Obi-Wan Kenobi: A Jedi's Return, Remembering, Dancing with the Stars: The Pros' Most Memorable Dances, Tierra Incognita, and sing-along versions of Frozen and Frozen 2.
