Yippie-Ki-Yay rules the week, yet again.
Live Free or Die Hard was tops at both the sales and rental charts for the week ending December 2. It took in $10.2 million in rental revenue, just slightly down from last week's $12.4 million. Shrek the Third was second in sales again, and managed to bump last week's #2 rental Hairspray and take the silver in rentals as well.
There wasn't a ton of competition from new releases this week. The strongest newbie was Waitress, which came in third on the rental charts and ninth on the sales charts. Other notable newcomers were Mr. Bean's Holiday which came in ninth on the rental charts and 13th on the sales charts and the direct-to-video release Futurama the Movie: Bender's Big Score, which fell just out of the top 10 at the 11th spot on the sales charts.
On the next-generation charts, Live Free or Die Hard was tops for Blu-Ray while Planet Earth: The Complete Collection was the top seller on HD DVD.
