According to The Hollywood Reporter, in yet another move by Lions Gate to sign talent to multipicture deals, the indie studio said Thursday that it is partnering with LL Cool J. The multiyear, multiproduction deal with the actor-rapper and his manager Jason Barrett of Alchemy Entertainment was announced by Michael Paseornek, president of production at Lions Gate Films.

It involves LL Cool J, aka James Todd Smith, taking on a much more involved role then he has with his other films. The multihypenate will produce each of the films with Barrett, and Paseornek and John Sacchi, senior vp production, will oversee on behalf of Lions Gate. The first project to be developed is an urban version of the '80s thriller Fatal Attraction. LL Cool J will play an everyman who gets into serious trouble when he engages in an extramarital affair.
