Four months after first announcing the Olympus Has Fallen sequel London Has Fallen, Focus Features has hired Fredrik Bond (Charlie Countryman) to direct the action sequel.

Olympus Has Fallen stars Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart and Morgan Freeman will reprise their roles as Secret Service agent Mike Banning, President of the United States Benjamin Asher and Speaker of the House Trumbull, who all head to London to attend the funeral of the U.K. Prime Minister. A plot unfolds, using this event to kill all of the world's leaders and "unleash a terrifying vision of the future."

Christian Gudegast (A Man Apart, Sequestro) wrote the most recent draft of the script, which was originally crafted by Olympus Has Fallen writers Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt. Production is slated to begin in October.
