Hallmark has announced that they are severing ties with Lori Loughlin after she was arrested and released on $1 million bail earlier this week. Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli allegedly agreed to pay bribes of $500,000 in exchange for having their two daughters designated as recruits to the USC crew team. However, both daughters were never a part of the crew team. Loughlin's daughter, YouTuber Olivia Jade has also been dropped by makeup brand Sephora due to the bribery controversy.

Hallmark parent company Crown Media released a statement announcing that they were dropping Lori Loughlin. When the college admissions bribery scandal news first broke, the network was waiting to see how everything unfolded before making any quick decisions. Loughlin has been a fixture on the Hallmark network for a number of years. You can read the statement below.

"We are saddened by the recent news surrounding the college admissions allegations. We are no longer working with Lori Loughlin and have stopped development of all productions that air on the Crown Media Family Network channels involving Lori Loughlin including Garage Sale Mysteries, an independent third party production."

Lori Laughlin was starring in When Calls the Heart, but she will no longer be on future episodes of the series. Loughlin was in British Columbia when the news came out that she was wrapped up in the college bribery scandal along with nearly 50 others, including actress Felicity Huffman. Loughlin came back into the United Stated earlier this week and surrendered to authorities. Her next court date is scheduled for March 29th in Boston. Andrew Lelling, U.S. District Attorney for Massachusetts, said this is the "largest college admissions scam ever prosecuted by the Department of Justice." It is believed that there were over $25 million in bribes.

Olivia Jade has over 2 million followers on YouTube, but that was not enough for Sephora to keep working with her. Since the college bribery scandal became major news, her products with the makeup brand have been getting review bombed with one-star negative reviews. In a statement, Sephora had this to say about their decision to drop Jade.

"After careful review of recent developments, we have made the decision to end the Sephora Collection partnership with Olivia Jade, effective immediately."

The college bribery scandal has been big news this week and it isn't going to be going away any time soon. While Lori Loughlin was on a flight back to Los Angeles to surrender to authorities, Olivia Jade was allegedly partying on a yacht owned by Rick Caruso, who just so happens to be the chairman of USC's board of trustees. That probably doesn't look very good to federal agents who are currently investigating matters further. Jade has said on her YouTube channel that she really isn't into school and was just looking to "party" and go to the least amount of classes that she could pull off. This news was first reported by TMZ.
